Shirley Weitz
Shirley Weitz, Associate General Counsel, has been an attorney at Rutgers since 1986, handling a large variety of legal matters for the University.
She holds a J.D. degree from Yale Law School , a Ph.D in Social Psychology from Harvard University, and a B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
Prior to coming to Rutgers she was an attorney in private practice in Princeton, New Jersey and in New York City.
Before becoming an attorney she was Associate Professor of Psychology at the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research in New York, specializing in nonverbal communication and sex roles, and is the author of three books in those areas, all published by Oxford University Press.
