Associate General Counsel
D'Andre Workman represents Rutgers University and all its units in matters ranging from healthcare transactional matters to healthcare compliance as well as other transactional, litigation and counseling matters.
Prior to joining the OGC, Mr. Workman served as in-house counsel at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where his primary practice areas included labor and employment, compliance and transactional law, all while serving as the primary attorney for UMNJ’s New Jersey Medical School. Mr. Workman also served as UMDNJ’s Labor Relations hearing officer and assisted with contract negotiations between UMDNJ and various bargaining units.
Prior to UMDNJ, Mr. Workman spent over 15 years serving as a deputy attorney general within the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Law, representing UMDNJ, the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, New Jersey Transit, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Board of Public Utilities. In this role, Mr. Workman represented his client agencies in arbitrations, administrative hearings, litigation matters as well as oral arguments before the New Jersey Superior Court-Appellate Division.
Mr. Workman served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable James H. Coleman Jr., New Jersey Superior Court-Appellate Division. He received his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law–Newark where he served as the articles editor for the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal. While attending Rutgers School of Law–Newark, Mr. Workman also served as a law clerk in the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Appellate Section. He received a B.A. from Seton Hall University where he graduated with high honors.
