Jennifer McGruther

Jennifer McGruther focuses her practice on litigation and the University’s general affairs. Before joining Rutgers, Jennifer was a Deputy Attorney General in the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Law, where she served as Assistant Section Chief in the Education/Higher Education Section. In that role, she counseled and defended the state colleges and universities, the Secretary of Higher Education, other higher education authorities, and the Department of Education.

Before entering the public sector, Jennifer spent several years in private practice, where she worked on commercial litigation matters, most recently as counsel at Lowenstein Sandler.

Jennifer has a B.A. in Russian language from Grinnell College and a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, where she was an editor on the Washington University Law Quarterly.
