About

George E. Loeser represents the university in a variety of transactional matters, with an emphasis on real estate, construction, financial transactions, corporate governance, and procurement. 

Prior to joining Rutgers, George was a Deputy Attorney General in the State of New Jersey, Office of the Attorney General where he was an Assistant Section Chief for the Treasury – Finance and Benefits section.  In that role, he represented the New Jersey Division of Investment regarding its management and investment of the State’s pension funds, as well as the real estate and procurement divisions of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. George also served as board counsel to the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, the New Jersey Educational Facilities Authority, and the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority. 

Immediately after graduating law school, George worked as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Fred H. Kumpf in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division – Civil Part. The following year he served another clerkship at the New Jersey Supreme Court for the Honorable Ariel A. Rodriguez.

George received a B.A. in Economics and Criminal Justice from Rutgers College and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law—Newark, where he was the Managing Notes Editor for the Rutgers Law Review, and a Teaching Associate to 1L Legal Research and Writing students. George is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York.
