Syrion Jack

Syrion Jack focuses his practice on litigation and labor and employment matters.

Before joining Rutgers, Syrion served as the Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Essex County College.  In that role, he oversaw activities of outside counsel, defended the College in litigation, negotiated contracts (including but not limited to labor, clinical affiliation, articulation agreements), drafted and developed College policies and regulations, and counselled the College's Board of Trustees and administrators on issues such as: accreditation, civil rights, procurement, OPRA, OPMA, and Title IV compliance requirements.   

Prior to his employment in higher education, Mr. Jack represented public and private sector clients in an array of civil rights and employment-related claims including discrimination and whistleblowing.  

Syrion is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and before the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law – Newark and his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University - Livingston College.
